SHELTER CONSTRUCTION WITH A POOL

ELEVATION

RAF

Design: Ar03412 studio, Eirini Kontopoulou

RAF is about a project for a shelter with a small guest house,  intended for use during the summer. Along with the pool, the design  forms an "L" shape, placed in the east side of the site. Inside the building, there is a kitchen, a small living room and two wc.

The construction is supported by the surrounding stone wall, which costitutes the boundary of the site. From indoor to outdoor, the transition is gradual, through an open space where only beams are visible. From this space, light is transmitted, reaching up to indoor living spaces. Sliding openings placed in the facades, offer the sense of a truly open area in direct contact with the outdoor.

Preffered materials, like concrete, metal and stone, which are used are rough, so as to integrate the construction with the rural surrounded landscape.
